How to get to Liège?

BY PLANE

Belgium's main airports are Brussels and Charleroi. The Maastricht-Aachen airport is also a possibility, especially for flights from Spain.

Brussels Airport (Bruxelles National)

Principal belgian airport. Located near Brussels, about 100 km from Liège.
A shuttle to Brussels main train stations (North, Central and South) is available at the airport. It takes about 10 minutes.
From Brussels to Liège : numerous trains are available every hour. The journey takes about 1 hour.

Charleroi Airport (Brussels South-Charleroi)

Located about 60 km from Brussels and 90 km from Liège. Regroups most of the "Low Cost" companies, including Ryanair.
A bus to Charleroi train station (Charleroi Sud) is available every 30 minutes. From there, trains to Liège are available every hour. The journey takes about 1h15 (1h30 on weekends).

Maastricht-Aachen Airport (Maastricht-Aachen Airport)

Mainly for flights coming from Spain (Alicante, Barcelona, Malaga and Tenerife).
A bus line (59) to Maastricht train station is available at the airport. From there, the train journey to Liege takes around 30 minutes.


BY TRAIN

The international train station of Liège-Guillemins is a major railway junction in the area, connecting France, Belgium and Germany through a high-speed train network : Thalys et ICE



GETTING AROUND IN LIÈGE

There are a taxi terminal and a bus station near Guillemins train station, both giving you easy access to city center.
Once in the center, it's better to walk. All recommanded hotels are located within 20 minutes of the University where the JADT will take place.
